Obama America Predictions Come True?
British Journalist Expects Obamaland to Follow Bankrupt England

When James Delingpole published Welcome to Obamaland in January 2009, he predicted that under Obama, whatever America was facing, it would become much worse. He believed that just as Tony Blair brought socialism to Britain, Barack Obama would bring it to the United States under the guise of "change."

Welcome to Obamaland predicted that under Barack Obama, America would be a repeat of what happened to England under Tony Blair. The author spells out what he sees ahead for the United States:
- A morass of sprawling government
- Suffocation of the economy
- Limits on freedom and liberty
- Socialism becoming the culture of the country
Delingpole draws comparisons between Obama and America to Blair and England. He writes that "Blair left the British bulldog castrated, whimpering and sick." He also wrote that he saw "the independent American eagle becoming the American turkey, oven-basted by the nanny state of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid."
According to Delingpole, in 1997, Britain elected a young, charismatic, inspirational leader and during the next ten years, Brits watched him bring the nation to the point of bankruptcy and a disillusioned citizenry. The author opined that in 2009, when Obama became President, there were the same hopes as the English citizens had for Blair.
Welcome to Obamaland Predictions
Under Barack Obama, Delingpole predicted the future:
- Universal Healthcare: That mean socialized medicine that will cost billions and introduce unprecedented waste, incompetence, and malpractice to American hospitals.
- Ethical Foreign Policy: A powerless national security program created because the left refuses to believe the truth-terrorists have a violent, homicidal hatred for America's culture and will do anything to wipe it off the earth.
- Environmental Care: Climate change hysteria, legislation and vastly expensive projects to conquer global warming. Citizens will be made to feel that anything less is un-American.
- Social Justice: State-enforced "fairness" through policies that reward those who make no effort and punish the successful.
Delingpole, who is known for his quick wit as a commentator, tells the reader just how bad he sees life for Americans will become under Obama. He writes that there will be
- Socialized medicine will make people want to avoid going to the doctor,
- Eco-fascism will end up the spending of millions, if not billions, destroying America's already shattered economy to protect un-endangered, man-eating polar bears.
- Immigration non-reform.
- Dumbing down of an already execrable school system.
